Zen Guard · Privacy Policy
Effective: May 2026
Zero data. Not "minimal" — zero.
Zen Guard collects no personal data. There is no account system, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no advertising. The app doesn't even have the INTERNET permission — it's physically incapable of transmitting data anywhere.
What we don't do
-
No data collection
Zen Guard doesn't collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no servers.
-
No analytics or tracking
No third-party SDKs. No usage analytics. No telemetry. No advertising frameworks.
-
No internet access
The app does not request the INTERNET permission and cannot communicate with any server.
-
No ads
No ad networks. No monetization of your data. Ever.
-
No accounts
No sign-up, no login, no email required. Just install and use.
-
No microphone, camera, or location
None of these permissions are requested. Zen Guard doesn't access your contacts either.
What we do
-
Local storage only
Settings (alarm sound, vibration, delay) stored in Android SharedPreferences on your device.
-
Foreground service
Keeps the app running so it can detect when your phone is unlocked while armed. Shows a persistent notification.
-
Vibration
VIBRATE permission used to vibrate the device when the alarm fires. Configurable in settings.
-
Notifications
POST_NOTIFICATIONS permission required by Android to show a persistent notification while armed.
-
Boot re-arm
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED re-arms the alarm after a device reboot if Zen Guard was armed before shutdown.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. The effective date will change when we do. Continuing to use Zen Guard after that means you accept the updated policy.
